Void is one of those albums that kept screaming out to me in the local music store. I kept looking at it and picking it up, curious about what a band called Intronaut would sound like. Finally I gave into my craving and bought the damn thing and it is one of the better metal albums I have heard this year. This group takes some of the best of old school thrash and meld it with the aggression of today's hardcore. Throw in a few dashes of Black Metal and you have Intronaut. Basically this band was thrown together as just a one off in Los Angeles but the guys in the band really gelled and the magic started happening. They released an EP called Null earlier this year and then they unleashed this monolith called Void. It is a very heavy album, not for the faint-of-heart.

They have a lot of the Swedish metal in their hearts, as shown on epic tracks like "Fault Lines". But the band also shows some jazzier traits as well on "Nostalgic Echo", possibly warranting the band a progressive tag as well.

They are a tough band to class but trust me, this thing is good and I hope that Intronaut stay together putting out music. Void is tasty.
