Thanks for the rec/ bro... absolutely the metal beyond in my early years. Bout 9-12 when I thought I new the future of music was Guns n Roses I was introduced to this record. My life changed. I also heard Judas Priest so who cares what I got to say lmao... just playing. Good review. When you gonna show the real chops, and make strides to join us on the staff?

this was my first slayer cd. when i first played it i was blown away. the fun south of heaven chorus is stuck in my head for hours after hearing it..."on and on south of heaveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen!!" god damn i can't get enough of that. mandatory suicide scared the crap out of me....hell i was only 15 when i played it. the creepy narration of what kerry sees makes me see it clearly in my mind and it just scared me. now...all these years later it doesn't scare me but it is something to really crank up on a bad day at work or whatever pisses you off. ghosts of war made me visualize a foggy, loud place full of soliders getting blown to bits and bombs going off....just plain insanity. the cover of judas priests' dissident aggressor was damn good, i was so glad they didn't screw up that song at all. the whole cd from start to finish is fast, aggresive and awesome! the creepy things that go bump in the night ain't got nothin on this cd. South Of Heaven will always be, in my opinion, my favorite cd of all time. nothing comes close to what south of heaven has. if you love metal....this cd will not dissapoint you. BUY IT! LISTEN TO IT! LOVE IT!
