Don't dare brush off Stryder as "just another emo band from NY". These guys know how to craft the catchiest melodies and are able to meld a crazy fanbase through relentless touring. The backbone of The Stryder are Peter Toh (Guitars) and Scottie Redix (Drums) who have been playing together for over 6 years in other bands but they envisioned a bigger and better band. The Stryder was born after they hooked up with Nick Wendel (Bass) and the amazing vocal talents of John Johansen. Once all fired up with an Equal Vision record deal they made out to make the best punk / pop / emo album ever heard. They came pretty damn close. On Masquerade, the Stryder kicks off right away with the opener "Sucker" which manages to punch you right in the gut with the chunky guitars and then finishes you off with the catchy chorus. It just gets better. Go buy it!
