Randy has been recommended to me a couple times and then the Cheater EP landed on my desk. Now I realize what everyone was talking about. Randy mixes the perfect blend of rock and punk to deliver a very powerful Swedish cocktail. Yup, these guys come from the land of rock and roll and have somehow found themselves smack on Winnipeg’s G7 Welcoming Committee label. The only complaint I have about the Cheater EP is that it is over before you know what hit you. There are 6 songs but that doesn’t go very far when they are just over 2 minutes on average. Their sound is old school but has enough smarts to fit into today’s scene. They have released a previous album on G7 called You Can’t Keep A Good Band Down and they also released the well received Epitaph album, Human Atom Bombs (which I have just placed on special order). Randy is most definitely a band to watch out for in the coming years.
