It has been awhile since I have heard a punk band with this much nodding to old school styles as this. Pistol Grip is a punk band that grew up on the Sex Pistols and the Clash and all the other British punk that you can think of and inject a L.A. flavor to it. The tunes that are on Kalico Rose are songs that fans can shout along with just like they used to. Some may complain that Pistol Grip aren’t adding anything new to the genre but I have one thing to say to that: Fuck You! You don’t need to be pushing the boundaries all the time. After all, it takes ages to perfect a style and once you have it you don’t want to give it up. Pistol Grip has been around since 1997 in the Los Angeles punk underground scene. They wanted to resurrect the punk attitude of the 70’s that they thought was lacking in today’s music. Pistol Grip are not out to change the world; just here to have a good time and play some good music. Be sure and catch Pistol Grip when the come to take over your town.
