This is not what you would expect, after hearing the radio friendly tunes that Social Distortion have been pumping out latley. This is raw, passionate and most of all....Its good. Mike Ness may be losing his touch now, but this was in '83 folks. The songs on this album are chock full of melody, yet suprisingly fast. No filler here my friends, this is pure gold. The band has been trying since this release to capture the beauty that is found here. A cult classic among the hardest of punk rockers, there is no question as to the credibility of Mike and crew. This is sure to please, for fans of The Clash right down to (Johnny) Cash. Just try it.

Good laaawd, this guy Shane impresses me more every day. Nail on the head about this album, and for certain take head to D's advice. Though Ill disagree Mike Ness will NEVER lose his touch, the world just loses touch with his touch. Mind you I've never been the typical hardcore Social D fan, I've always enjoyed them amongst company over the years.
But it was really the ending to this review that smacked me in the face and called me a bitch. Very nice direct review. Yes, yes! You continue to impress.
extra star for the quality review.

It is a great album, ALTHOUGH, if you are just checking them out for the first time I would recommend either the self-titled (see my review) or Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell. It's the sound on these two album that defined Social D. This is just punk, the other two albums I mentioned take on the rockabilly side of punk and start to differentiate themselves. Regardless, Social Distortion is one of the best punk bands that mix roots into their music.
