Osker is a punk band that is out to change the way people think about punk. They are stuck somewhere between an emo sound and a full on punk sound. Their first album, Treatment 5, was a full on punk affair but now they have slowed it down a bit and are concentrating more on the song structure. Obviously, Devon Williams anger has subsided and he is left with a bucketload of teenage angst. This proves to be a good thing in the world of Osker (which in fact is only 2 permanent members). The melodies abound and the emotions run rampant. If they aren’t careful, they will end up replacing Blink 182 on all the covers of the magazines. The songs are totally catchy and not at all abrasive. You can sense the maturation of the band already. It will be interesting to see what the next chapter of Osker will be.
