The Final Cut is often overlooked in Pink Floyd's musical rµm mainly because of it being so closely released to the enormous hits The Wall and Dark Side of the Moon. However, this highly conceptual album is not unlike Floyd's previous releases; it is rich in bluesy guitar solos, has exceptional musical craftsmanship with the usage of unorthodox instruments in a modern rock band, and evokes strong emotions from its listeners--utilizing both ends of the musical spectrum: sparse instrumentation to psychedelic sounds. The highlight of this album for me is on "The Gunner's Dream" where Waters' scream melts into a melancholic trumpet solo, which is so wonderfully typical of Pink Floyd. I implore you: do not forget about The Final Cut, it is an album full of amazing songs and is Floyd's last great album before they unfortunately went separate ways.
