No, it's not a new album from the awesome Nightmares on Wax. My Definition is a mix CD of all the music that inspires George Evelyn (NOW) in making his masterpieces. Evelyn states "Today's Music is inspired by whatever has gone before. That's what fascinates me. Soul music is the earliest form of hip-hop." With the songs he presents to us on My Definition you can see where the smooth electronic beat ideas come from. There is no denying the brilliance in all of the tracks George has chosen here. There are many soul tracks but he also dives into hip-hop, trip-hop, dub and funk. Most of these songs and artists I haven't heard before but a couple I have, Das EFX "They Want EFX", Nextmen "Piece of the Pie", Paris "I Choose You". My favorite track is "Learn To Be Strong" by Cappo, a good hard hitting British hip-hop track. "Don't Let It Get You Down" by the Crusaders is a great smooth funk track, instrumental though. One of the best things on My Definition is that all of the songs have super solid beats going on. Is that Nightmares on Wax throwing his touch on them or is it the tracks he has chosen.
