I really like this album. No, I mean I REALLY like it. I received at the same time I received another of my favorites this year, Capitol City Dusters. The reason for this is the The Most Secret Method and Capitol City Dusters have been labelmates for quite some time. CCD finally received Dischord distribution. That leaves The Most Secret Method to hold down the fort at Superbad. And they do a fine job of it with their Our Success album. It was recorded at several intervals since 1998; Pirate Studios, Black Sonya, Inner Ear with Fugazi’s Ian MacKaye, and Live at the Black Cat. What you get is an update as to what the band has being doing since their debut, Get Lovely. We are treated to 15 tracks of pure post-rock bliss in Jawbox style. They go beyond that in many cases proving their diversity in all types of punk music. If you are a fan of the DC area music scene, past or present, you will totally enjoy, if not favor The Most Secret Method after hearing Our Success.
