This new band comes from the unlikely place of Denver, CO and there is no warning as to how hard hitting Drop Dead, Gorgeous are until they come across your stereo. Well, these boys breath a breath of fresh air into the post-hardcore/metal-core world and manage to create quite a strong release. In Vogue impresses this reviewer after as few as three listens. There are times when the band gets all spastic, like on the title track but I really think the thing that sets them apart is the use of their piano. They head into the territory where Underoath lives and while sounding familiar their energy makes up for a lot of other flaws. Songs like "Girl, Are You On Your..." seem to outshine even the mighty Underoath. They don't really bring anything that new to the table but the power they manage to inject into their music is refreshing. While this band gets a lot of slack, I would like to argue that they are a powerhouse and would probably be impressive live. So, if you don't mind some recycled ideas mixed with pure determination then Drop Dead, Gorgeous should appease. I enjoyed In Vogue.

In my opinion, Drop Dead, Gorgeous brings nothing new to the scene of hardcore. The vocals are good for the most part, but it's nothing you wouldnt hear with a band like underoath or even chiodos maybe. This is a good effort by this new band, and will probably get them recognized by a mix of Underoath, atreyu, and chiodos fans. But as for me? I'm not that big of a fan for Drop Dead, Gorgeous. Call me picky if you would like, but remember that this is just one guys opinion.
