13 members contribute to this LA band’s assault on your senses. Byzantine Headache is a furious blast of post-rock sludge, with some tasteful free jazz-like rhythms to complete the bludgeoning. This record takes a cheesegrater to your brain and scrubs it royally. Dare to click any one of these 10 tracks and you will be rewarded with a super cobweb cleansing, the most righteous being “ Don’t Let Rep33 Ever Fuck With Your Facce,” “ Metal Coax Concrete Warm String Plastic Tithe, Remember Dials,” “ The Ridicule of Pern.” “Another Misplayed Endgame” ought to be the Republican’s theme song after the recent election, if they were interested in soul-searching. With plenty of ideas to max-out a landfill, Gang Wizard grab each and wring them for all they are worth, then run away with the refuse and start all over again. This band keeps mining the power right out of the mountain.
