It seems as though L.E.S. Stitches have decided to back a bit for their inspiration. The punk of yesteryear is prevalent on their album Lower East Side. Not British punk, but good home-grown American punk rock. They have a sound that is raw nd true to itself; gritty and yet still accessible. Mick Stitch's vocals are almost whispered out at times and at others he raises it up to an utter roar. James Baggs' drums are almost hypnotizing and yet pulverizing at the same time. The band takes ideas from the past and rework them to fit into the punk world of today. They prove that punk is not dead but that you have to keep your creative thoughts flowing and attitude lends alot to the punk rock sound. So raise your lip to the Lower East Side Stitches.
