The Hourly Radio is one of those bands that have been buzzing for a while now (a couple of years) and the only way for this buzz to end is for this band to blow up big. History Will Never Hold Me is the Dallas foursome's debut full-length album and it is full of some pretty catchy pop/rock. The band kind of has that Interpol feel with fuzzed over production but The Hourly Radio is so much brighter and positive. Aaron Closson easily switched up his vocals from a normal singing voice to his lovely falsetto in the blink of an eye and without any effort. The group released the awesome "Crime Does Pay" this past summer and established the band as one to watch. While Kirtland Records is fairly unheard of, they should prove themselves with this strong release. The way that this band fuses a shoegazer style with pop is the thing that keeps them above a lot of newcomers. The guys manage to sound fresh even though it is obvious that their influences are all based in the 80s and 90s (read: U2). I do see a bright future for The Hourly Radio. I've also heard that their live show is something to see. If they can come off as sonically pleasing as History Will Never Hold Me then it would be something to witness.
