RecommendAiden is a band coming from Seattle Washington who "meld punk, post-hardcore and goth influences", according to their bio. In reality I don't hear any goth at all even though some of the subject matter is a little dark. The music is more a meld of post-hardcore and pop, which so many of today's emo bands excel at, Aiden being no exception. It's their make-up and clothing style that get them labeled as goth. That's it. Nightmare Anatomy is their sophomore album but first for Victory records. The label scooped them up after fans were slobbering over their debut. Now this disc is actually very poppy. Have a listen to the dark but very upbeat "Die Romantic". I might even play this song for my parents. It's got the pop/punk elements perfect, not in the NOFX way but more in a Thursday meets Blink-182. There is not very much aggression in this music but I actually enjoy it. I don't know how often I would come back to Nightmare Anatomy but it is worth recommending to your emo pals. I might suggest that Aiden add some more balls to their music to keep the post-hardcore crowd happy too.

Bands like this deserve a negative cope out option. This goth-rock trend is outrageous and terrible.

Aiden is probably the most terrible thing i have ever heard in my life. Well, i can't really say that, but they are pretty terrible. It's not so much of the music as it is the vocals. Their front man is terrible, and the vocals make me want to rip my ears off. The lyrics to this album are terrible, and the singles are questionably called singles. There are far better bands out there then Aiden that could be getting their 15 minutes of fame instead. I suggest that the band drops the lead vocalist, or invest in vocal lessons from a professional. Terrible band, terrible album. An embarrassment from the pits of Seattle Washington.

Someone told me that since I liked old-school A.F.I. (pre-Sing The Sorrow...) that I would like Aiden but aside from one song off of their first CD, I really, REALLY hate them. :/
