Do you like your country with loads of twang? Tim Hus just might be for you. He's got such a country voice that I really couldn't imagine him singing any other type of music. Alberta Crude is his second album and one of the most interesting road worthy country albums to come out of Alberta. The album starts out with the title track to really give you an idea of what to expect for the rest of the album. Tim and Stompin' Tom have a lot in common. Both musicians have that kind of shuffle feel to their country music. One of the best tracks of the set is "Yukon Trail: Mackenzie Delta Hughes", it's almost got a Johnny Cash feel to it. Hus is a good roots songwriter. Throughout the album I kept looking to make sure that none of them were covers, and surprise, they are all originals. My only complaint with Alberta Crude is the cover art. Probably one of the worst covers I have ever seen. The back is fine but the front is cheesy. Don't judge the music by the cover though, I almost did.
