Part 2 - Live From The Breadline
This album was a little bit of a surprise. With the cover stating "Part 2 Live From The Breadline" an uninformed person might think that this was a compilation (wouldn't happen to me, no way, I know better). But lo-and-behold, Part 2 is the alias of a producer and DJ from the British Hip Hop community. Live From The Breadline is a mix album of some of his favorite artists and tracks that have been remixed in a clever and inventive way. It's hard hitting in a grime/hip-hop style that is really refreshing. This coming from a Canadian who doesn't get exposed to a lot of the genre. If Dizzee Rascal and the Streets is about as far as you've gone with the genre then this mix album is for you. There are a whopping 15 tracks on here (a couple are skits) and they are all decent. I think if I was exposed to Part 2 for too long I might tire of this style of dance but I don't get enough of it right now. Easily the best track on the album is "Chasin'" with Juice Aleem. It's a fun garage type track that is hard hitting. He brings a lot of folks in from his time with the group New Flesh. It's all good. A nice mix album of a genre we don't get enough of over here. Jockey Slut praises Part 2's "dizzying invention". Find out why.
