Armor for Sleep does a good job with their debut album, Dream To Make Believe. It leaves much room for the band to show how far they can mature through the oncoming years. The songs on this record are a great combination of emo rock and the modern rock that floods the airwaves now. While this album did not get as much recognition as their sophomore record, Dream To Make Believe is still a good album. The two hits off of this record, Dream to Make Believe and My Town are easily some of the best songs off of this record and are easy to get into. Both have a very smooth sound, which explains what kind of style Armor For Sleep has. While their music is pop-ish, they are no Fall Out Boy.
Sounds from songs such as My Town, are as hard feel as you will get on this album. But if you're looking for the softest track on this album, my opinion would fall upon Raindrops. Raindrops is a magnificent song and I would have easily chose it for the next hit off of this album, if I personally had the choice.
Suffocate me, all you need,
I won’t breathe but it’s okay
You’ll be somewhere around me
And I won’t need air
The chorus is good, but some of the verses are lacking. And thats not just for Raindrops, I'm afraid all of the songs suffer from this. A little more creativity for the lyrics is all I would like to hear on this album, but other than that, this album is a great one that all Armor For Sleep fans should pick up.
