The (International) Noise Conspiracy made quite an impact with their debut album Survival Sickness. I still have the title track stuck in my head from last year. Why would a band that just wants to rock end up becoming critical darlings? The fact is it’s been a long time since a band has created such good, straight ahead rock music. If you don’t believe me just go out and get A New Morning, Changing Weather and listen to the second track “Up For Sale and you will soon be a rabid follower. New Morning is quite a bit more diverse than Survival Sickness but it doesn’t lose any of the sheer power that this band is capable of. I still find it hard to believe that this is the same vocalist that fronted the screamable punk band Refused. This Swedish quartet not only rocks hard but they try to incorporate political messages into their music (hence the conspiracy in their name). Try “Capitalism Stole My Virginity on for size. If that doesn’t do it then try “Born Into A Mess. A band with a message can sometimes be dangerous. With (International) Noise Conspiracy it’s a damn fine reason to rock out.
