Escape The Fate has been getting a lot of press to do with their debut album, Dying Is Your Latest Fashion. This full length follows up their smash EP called There's No Sympathy For The Dead. This Vegas group is young but they show promise. Fashion is a good start into the world of screamo, on the more accessible side of things. Ronnie Radke is a quite an able singer, keeping the songs together quite nicely. The screams go along nicely and don't affect Ronnie's singing voice that much. If you are into bands such as My Chemical Romance then Escape The Fate will be right up your alley. The album opens up with the very bold "The Webs We Weave", easily the best track of the set. Songs like "Situations" seem like they have already been done. The sort of familiarity that a new band like this shouldn't have already. What is it they are growling out at the end of "The Guillotine"? It sounds cool but I just can't make it out. Maybe the boys need to work on their guttural vocal style so you can kinda make it out. I think Escape The Fate will be around for quite some time. They have lain down a solid foundation to grow on. Once they find their own sound they will be so much better. Or maybe "Escape The Fate" is meant to be trying to escape all the comparisons of all the other same genre bands?

First heard of this band in my College days. I was starting to like rock and metal back then and sort of come to discover Escape the Fate. This was the first album which I listened to back then from them. Personally, I think this album was a great start for them. This album consists of that ETF flavor which I guess made their mark. There are catchy songs in the album and at the same time there are some songs which lacks on something I can't quite express. Situations, There's no Sympathy for the Dead and Not Good Enough for Truth and Cliche are good and strong songs that I guess made ETF break the scene. Music-wise, the guitars create excellent harmony when performed, drumming was also superb, it tends to lean on more bass and snare rather than constantly hitting the cymbals, which I prefer. The vocal style was more of the screamo-emo type wherein you can hear Radke's screams and sometimes whiney voice, but all's good. The vocals fit the imagery of the band as well. I think ETF will remain solid and strong through the years (even though Radke and Green departed from the band). It also seems that Escape the Fate is the type of band that continues to grow stronger and heavier through time.

While I agree with the original review, I do believe it is a bit misleading. Escape the fate is an extremely talented and young band. This album shows that well. They show maturity in songs like "Day I left the omb" and also they bring an provocative style in many of their songs. "Situations", which I think musically is one of the weaker songs, exemplifies the high energy they bring. Most of the songs are consistanly good. They are all pretty close to perfect and for a first full album i think it is as damn close to perfect as new band will get. Saying that "Webs We Weave" is the best is matter of opinion. These songs are so evenly good it is hard to pick a favorite. Personally, I found myself moving from favorite song to a differnt constantly. At one point all of these songs were my favorite. Dramatic lyrics and uncalled for yet amazing breakdowns is what Escape The Fate is all about. They are unique and Ronnie Radke only takes them to another level. In closing this album is nothing short of amazing. In terms of bands first full albums this is definitely one of the best, with no question.
