Who the hell is Hi-Standard? Well, they have been around since 1991 making noisy pop/punk music in their home country of Japan. They have a great sense of humor and melody and it really shines on Making The Road, their recent release. You would swear that this music is being played by American skate punks but in actual fact Hi-Standard is made up of 3 Japanese punks. Once again proving that music is the only true international language. The now mandatory punk cover on this album is a great selection. They chose Black Sabbath's Changes and do a bang up job. Another choice record from Fat Wreck Chords.
