Amos Lee's self-titled debut garnered a lot of attention for this Philadelphia-based musician. I just waved all that hype off and disregarded that released. Well, lo-and-behold Supply And Demand, his follow-up album landed on my desk so I was obligated to at least give it the time of day. And I'm glad I did. Sure, it's everything I expected. You know, the AOR type singer/songwriter material that sounds great right beside the likes of Martin Sexton. But it is good. Amos writes some amazing songs. Each track is distinct and there isn't a disposable track on the set of 11 songs. There seems to be a simple timeless quality to tracks like "Sweet Pea". There is no denying that Amos is a great songwriter and Supply And Demand should easily solidify that notion. Amos Lee is one of those artists that can get away with catering to both the young and old. He's hip but not abrasive. One of those rare gems that you can play for your parents and not worry about offending them, if those are things you worry about.
