Grade - Head First, Straight To Hell
Grade is one of the most creative hardcore / punk bands going right now and the cool thing is that they are from Canada. Their highly anticipated follow-up to Under The Radar has fans lining up to buy. Head First kicks off with spit spraying on “Termites Hollow but the album lets away for a bit of their emotional stuff only to start spraying out the vocals once again. The song is a great representation of what lies ahead. Grad really relies on no trend or one musical genre. They borrow and steal from every great heavy band out there and meld them into a very original album. The power that Grade is capable of is downright scary. The album ends off with a track called “The Glorious Dead that sounds like you are heading straight to hell but instead taking the scenic route. It is a gloomy 16 minute track that seems to go on forever. Grade may be heading down a new path but it is a path they need to take in order to keep their relevance in the genre.
