Good Clean Fun is a band that totally believes in the D.I.Y. ethic of punk rock. They have been in existence for almost 5 years now and issued 2 full-length albums and a few EPs themselves or through small labels. On top of that they have toured the world multiple times, gaining quite a cult like status. The only issue that Good Clean Fun fans had was tracking down their hard to get albums. That’s where the hardcore label Equal Vision steps in. They have agreed to release Positively Positive 1997-2002, which is a collection of pretty much every Good Clean Fun song recorded. Call it a one-stop shop for fans or a complete retrospective for the passer by. This is the first time I have heard this band and I am totally impressed with the quality of their recordings and the hardcore songs. Usually 50 minutes of hardcore punk is a little too much for my ears but I found myself listening to Good Clean Fun multiple times and fully enjoying it. And the band does try and stay positive with their sing along choruses, using Positive multiple times throughout the album. The band has many very entertaining tracks like the cleverly titled “The Ice Cream Man Cometh and “Last Night I Dreamt an Emo Kid Loved Me. Whether you are hardcore, punk, straightedge, or just like entertaining heavy music, Good Clean Fun has a lot for everyone.
