Cranston Foundation are known for their live shows, which put to best use their infectious blend of punk, ska, and power pop. Communicate translates that sound in the studio pretty well. The rhythm section especially shines, driving the genre-mixing and helping to blend it into a rocking, funky stew. "Hong No. 12" and "Elevate" must sound mighty live, and "Day by Day" and "Weight of the World" would be hit songs in a perfect world. Listening to bands like this, though, make you feel that at least a better world is possible. The Cranston Foundation play smart and sharp, and since they've recently been part of some big festivals and benefits, including Vans Warped, their visibility ought to only grow.
