Flogging Molly are still putting away the pints and doing a fine job of writing music. Drunken Lulluabies is their sophomore album as well as second for punk label Side One Dummy and it swings along just as fine as their first. They blew up the Warped Tour in 2001 and hot on the tails of that they entered the studio to follow up Swagger. If you haven't had the chance to listen to Flogging Molly then let me prepare you. They borrow much from The Pogues but they actually manage to add a little more punk in The Pogues Irish sound. Punk and Irish music just seems to go hand in hand as you will see when you hear Dave King croon at the start of "Rebels of the Sacred Heart" and then kick into action when the electric guitars join in. It really is the best of both worlds. They are a little more about having a good time than getting a political statement across. So raise your pint of Guinness or Irish Whiskey to these Agro-Celt madmen and women who call themselves Flogging Molly.
