Using repetition and minor chord themes that explore the sound of one riff clapping, Te create sound landscapes that come straight from the mountains or from some puked-in stall at CBGB.
"Watch" whispers its wisdom, while "Ordinary" builds to monster noise. "Mind ", like "Intelligence and "Farce", exploit some post-rock themes that manage to be both familiar and expansive; Te' meditate and rock in ways that are nothing short of majestic. Resignation need not be surrender; "Imitation" and "Accomplish" reach heights of hope rarely so explicit in instrumental music. This Japanese band plays with an eye on the holy in a way that you need to go back to free jazz for some metaphors. Stunning and impossible to forget.
