RecommendIn From First To Last's bio that came with this album the vocalist seems to state that being pigeonholed as one type of music leads to no originality. Well, Heroine doesn't really sound all that original with that bold statement being forefront. They have a lot of similarities to some of the bigger selling punk/emo bands today like Fall Out Boy, The Used and AFI. Heroine is the case of From First To Last wanting to expand their reach into a more accessible side of punk. It should be an easy album for a newcomer to get into. There is nothing really that abrasive about it. I think it is definitely a step in the right direction. I'm not sure if they have captured the punk crowd with lyrics like "I can't eat anything / without shoving my hands down my throat" on "Waltz Moore". I know I'm older but is self-hate the topic du jour? Regardless, Heroine is not a bad album, it just sounds as if you have heard it before.

I love Sonny Moore just as much as anyone could possibly love him. But Heroine is a horrible album. I am a huge fan of Sonny, who makes FFTL worth listening to. In the first two albums Sonny Moore made them worth listening to. Not even his amazing vocals could make this album good. He is the only good thing about it. Heroine is shallow lyrically and the desire seems to be lacking. The entire album seems forced and you could almost surely predict their break-up after this album. Dear Diary My Teen Angst Has a Body Count was a classic and Aesthetic is sick but this just made me sick. It is utterly disappointing and honestly made me lose faith in the band. This is the reason I am so happy they broke up because Sonny Moore was purely on a different level then the rest and his solo career should be amazing. I'm sorry FFTL but this simply is foreshadowing of your days with out Sonny Moore

Heroine is a terrible third album from this band. From first to last had some great releases, they seemed to be progressing from their first release. With this album, it seems like they jumped so far back, the fell off the face of a cliff. The thing that surprised and set me off so badly about this album was the horrific vocals. Sonny Moore was known in the last album for great vocals and good lyrics, but now.. He tries to do this whole tremble effect with his voice, but it just doesnt work for him. The music is solid, in fact, the only thing that doesnt make me listen to this album is the vocals because they are so terrible. I'm glad Sonny Moore is out of the band now, because they just might be better off without him.
