There is something in the darkness in Scandinavia that just scares the shit out of me. The region is peaceful, liberal and beautiful, but also depressing and full of hidden madness. We all know about the Black Metal scene in Norway, where kids took the cartoonish, money-making image of Venom deadly seriously. They didn't play with that, and produced some of the most menacing music (and attitudes) in rock history. This comp comes fresh from Denmark, which apparently has been making use of their months of winter darkness for demonic creation. Brutal and remorseless noise is found here, with bands like Plarforsker, Dark Vibes, Respirator, Ellis One, Hentai, NAND being the mightiest culprits. Organic Pipeline is truly digging for, and finding some amazing, face-splitting noise. This is a great place to start to get to know them and the latest brutal missive from the Great Black North.
