RecommendComets On Fire comrade, Noel Von Harmonson, steps out with an unhinged solo record of noise and manic improv. Usually listed on COF records as master of the "ecoplex", Harmonson shreds every environment he finds, mixing them into an assaultive ambient groove. Noise is so ubiquitous these days that it is hard to be horrified or shocked anymore by the assault. This record comes close to reminding one of the truly horrific potential of noise. Not for the faint of heart, Harmonson's record is a test of nerve and of philosophy. Born of the 4th of July succeeds on both counts and ought to be played in order to start a party, not clear one out.
