Dave Smalley and his crew of Dag Nasties are back with their first album in over a decade. It is a welcome return for Dag Nasty to get back into playing what these guys do best. There is a quote in their bio that came with this album that deserves repeating here: “This album is nothing short of a reawakening. It’s like getting a call from an old friend you haven’t heard from in years and realizing that you had forgotten just how much you missed them. That’s exactly the way I felt when I threw Minority of One on. Although the members have ventured off and done their different bands they have always remembered where they came from and most likely, have realized that Dag Nasty is still an influence in punk music today. While the band has moved on a bit from the Can I Say and Wig Out At Denko’s days they still reach back to those days for a blueprint on their new material. For those fans who gave Four on the Floor a chance and were disappointed, give Minority of One a chance. Dag Nasty is back in fine form, delivering a very professional and interesting album. Somehow the band has got the fire going again. It is a welcome relief. And what a great cover of Generation X’s “One Hundred Punks.
