Four songs. Doesn't seem long enough to be a full-length album but at the end of Futurists Against The Ocean you'll bee screaming at Asva to let you come up for air. Asva is the collaboration between G. Stuart Dahlquist of Sunn 0))) and Burning Witch with B.R.A.D., also of Burning Witch, and John Schuller. Troy Swanson was brought in to help with the recording of this monolith. Trey Spruance, who's Mimicry label Futurists is released on, was also asked to play guitar, piano and other instruments. Other artists where brought in when they group felt it was necessary. This is drone metal at its finest. The songs drone on for what seems like forever. On the first track, "Kill The Dog, Tie Them Up, Then Take The Money" the group stretches a 3 minute song into 14 minutes of doom and gloom. The spookiest of the four tracks has to be "Fortune" where Jessika Kenney provides the eerie howling vocals. It's pretty and yet can scare the hell out of you. It would be a great soundtrack for a halloween party.
