The Doers are a quirky rock/pop band from Vancouver that are embarking on their second chapter. Whatcha Doin is the bands second full-length album and it is full of songs that rarely even make the three minute mark. The group pack on 19 slabs of pop that are all over the map. And only a quirky, nerd band would take on a Daniel Johnston cover track ("Wicked World"). While there isn't a lot of originality there is a ton of heart that is put into The Doers. It's the kind of thing where you can see a band still going after 10+ years. We'll see just how far the Doers pull it off for. I gravitated towards the female fronted (Sarah Jane) "Handjob At Sunset". It seemed to have a little more serious feel to it and was a little darker. "Moment Noticed" was pretty cool with the male/female vocals. I think the Doers might just need to work on refining their songs and style, if they even care. It sounds like they are having a great time and really, what's more important than that.
