There was a time when I would have eaten up Hurricane Bar. Not even that long ago. Anyway, Hurricane Bar is the not-even-anticipated sophomore album from Northern Europe's Mando Diao. It build's off of their debut though and it really is a strong album. Strong songs like "Down In The Past" that actually have some soul going for them really stand out. Unfortunately Mando Diao's style of garage rock just seems stale now. Many of the genre's bands keep putting out solid material but the problem is that there is very little originality left. It just sounds like these are The (International) Noise Conspiracy covers and it sounds like that band is covering Mando Diao. That being said, I still think this is a strong album but I don't really think they are going to go anywhere sounding like the rest of the crowd. I'd still like to see them live.
