Measles Mumps Rubella is a DC ambient/funk band with hardcore beats from both sides of the fence, and with a little punk bite to them as well. Droning in places where other bands might overstate, Measles Mumps Rubella keep you guessing, their sound not easy to anticipate, even in the same song. This is a band with ideas, ranging from the bass & guitar groove of "Algorithm of Desire", the trippy title song, the noisy, goth-tinged "Apples of Echoes." You can dance to it, zone out to it, and even find some guitar riffs to envy. The ideas keep coming, like: why aren't more bands trying to be original instead of trying to be like Billy Joe?
