RecommendDressy Bessy is another one of those groups that I had read about plenty but I had never ventured to listen to one of their albums. That all changed with Electrified. This is the band's fourth album from what I've read, one of their most focused too. The band reminds me of a Sleater-Kinney mixed with the dancey elements of Brassy. I have to say that they are a lot more aggressive than I would have imagined. The name evokes a cute pop band but they border on the punk side of things and aren't ashamed of it. In actual fact, if Electrified had been released under another band's name, say The Breeders, it would shoot up the charts. As it is, Dressy Bessy will keep late night college DJ's company for a few more years.
