RecommendBy The End Of The Night's debut is an odd mix of styles, one track showcasing a desire to expand on hard rock ideas and dig for something deep and raw, another showing a desire to be Rush. Of the five tracks on A Tribute To Tigers, the former shows in “Stop, Drop And Roll Doesn’t Work in Hell� and on “Tigers�, where the band reaches at the same peak a kind of Sonic Youth-like distortion and Zoot Horn Rollo guitar freakout. The other tracks ponder along wordlessly, waiting for Peart. But let’s give them a hearing. There is some truly massive power in some of these riffs and in the drumming. They need someone to help them focus and kick out the jams. Or they might be covering “2112" at a friend’s wedding.
