I guess I may have fallen prey to one too many good reviews on this album. After Bad Religion has been panned for the last couple of albums, they have been praised for the best album of their career. Are these praises correct or are they just to sell albums? This album marks a couple significant points for the band. For starters, they have left the majors to return to the bands stomping grounds, Epitaph Records. Also, original member Brett Gurewitz has returned. All of these factors lead up to one result, the album of Bad Religion’s career. It’s not an overstatement. The Process of Belief is fast and furious as well as very well written. Greg Graffin and Brett writing songs together again is like magic. While Brett has been producing other Epitaph bands, he has picked up ideas that he obviously wanted to try with Bad Religion. Yes, it’s the same sound for a band that has been around for almost 20 years but things are really clicking for the band and I’m willing to bet that Process ends up on many top ten punk album lists for the year.
