Twenty years old and this Bad Brains album is still one of the most intense punk/hardcore albums to ever hit the shelves. It wasn't until 1996 that a CD release was available and fans were finally satisfied with the re-release. What made this album so different from what all the other punk bands going at the time? The key was the reggae connection. When you can go from the furious "Right Brigade"right into the ganga smoking "I Luv I Jah" without even thinking about and not making it seemed forced proves that HR and the crew were totally talented musicians. The energy that their full on hardcore songs contain are rivaled second to none. And they were one of the first black bands to fit into the genre, paving the way for the likes of Living Color. This is the shit and don't let anyone tell you different. Hardcore would not be what it is today had the Bad Brains not contributed.

An amazing album by a groundbreaking band. From the hard, in-your-face ' Pay to Cum' and 'Fearless Vampire Killers' to the slow religious or instrumental tracks like 'Jah Calling' and 'I Luv I Jah', this album more than stands the test of time.
