For the longest time I swore that Relationship of Command was the defining moment for the seminal Texas act At The Drive-In, but lately I've been listening to Vaya a lot. I know the EP was only 7 songs long but every song is top notch and deserves your time and attention. You think that they couldn't improve on the album opener, "Rascuache" but that is only a primer for the following six songs. "T Minus, 10 seconds and counting" bring us into track 2, "Proxima Centauri", my personal favorite. "Ursa Minor" slows things down ever so slightly. And then one of the most dramatic tracks on Vaya happens to be one called 300 Mhz. Don't dismiss this EP. It's an essential post-hardcore album that would define a lot of bands to come.
