Fess up: Ian McCullough was probably the most beautiful man of the 80's, and there aint no shame in any gender admitting that. He also had more romantic soul than Bono or that sad freak in the Alarm. The dramatic, atmospheric chugging on "Stormy Weather" "Parthenon Drive" or "Of a Life" on Echo and the Bunnymen's Siberia album would fit on any of the band" 80's records, and add to their greatness. “Make Us Blind. “Everything Kills You the title track and "Sideways Eight" take the signature sound and stretch it; these songs rock with a confidence that comes from knowing your sound works, and wondering where you can take it next. In a perfect world, more people would recognize that originality and lasting worth. Echo & The Bunnymen sound relevant again, and untainted by years of bad records or nostalgia trips like many of their contemporaries.
