Back to back songs midway through this Ringworm album give you a good overall sense of where this band’s line in the sand ought to be. “Whiskey Drunk� is a god-awful power ballad that would have been left off any LA Guns record; “God Eat God� is the most brutal, punishing, textbook metal outside of Pantera. Zack Wylde should retire after one listen of how it really is done. Nothing new here, but Ringworm are one of the best of the bazooka riff metal band, refreshing in their love of the basics. Singer Human Furnace (!) hits all the classic metal notes, and with more sincerity than most vocalists in metal now. Ditch the ballads and the pentagram and this is a band on the rise. As of now Ringworm rule the metal roost.
