It's funny because I always think I've heard enough of Dropkick Murphys. You know, you get to that point where you think you've heard it all and one more album would be redundant. I've seen the band three times in a live setting and have all of their albums (or had at one point). Then they keep putting out such impressive slabs of punk. Sure, they have bagpipes and that might even make them stand out even more. Yellowcard have a fiddle and Dropkick Murphys have a bagpipe. Call it a gimmick but it seems to do the trick. It could also be because I don't listen to them that often. One album every 2-3 months seems to do it for me and it gives me my Irish punk fix. But every time a new Dropkick Murphys album comes out I'm not excited, that is until I give it a listen. While I think that Sing Lound, Sing Proud or Blackout may be definitive Murphys, The Warrior's Code is no slouch either. It has some powerful sing along punk songs that really get the blood flowing. I could see rugby players listening to an album like this getting ready for a game. They still prove to be relevant as long as they keep making inspired music such as this.
