Grandaddy - Excerpts From The Diary of Todd Zilla EP
Excerpts from the Diary of Todd Zilla is a little EP to hold us fans over until the next release. They upped the anti with Sumday and these tracks sound like they are left-overs from those sessions. There is one part where you question Grandaddy's efforts and that is in the middle of "Florida" where Grandaddy turn into a hardcore band. Other than that the EP is every bit as pleasant as Sumday. One special treat is "Fuck The Valley Fudge". It's bark is worse than its bite as it is a gentle Grandaddy song. This EP is pleasant offering us fans 7 new songs but I would call it essential. There is nothing here to indicate that the group is moving in a new direction so I would assume that their next album will probably be more of the same, pushing the band into obscurity again.
