RecommendIt is certainly not unusual to come across an artist influenced by the Rolling Stones; it is odd that the period that inspired Jake Stigers is Steel Wheels-era Stones. The crisp corporate pop production, the "is it a computer or is it Charlie?" drums; not that this is bad. Jake Stigers sharp guitar work announces itself through the sheen. Stigers has a strong, and confident, pop sense, and most of the songs here rock with tight control. "Comin Back Again" and "Only Wanna Be With You" bounce and crunch like good power pop should. Not an earth shaker, but at times a feel-good speaker-rattler, which more than works.
