Trundling into straightforward indie territory; This Et Al combine the mundane nature of Morrissey with the hurried and troubled style of Joy Division, in the echoing 'You've Driven For Miles' that represents an earnest if unspectacular beginning. A Jarvis Cocker vocal impersonation is endeavoured in the flip side of this double A sided offering; Not Remembered A Thing/You'll Never Be A Dancer'. However, the lyrics are uninspiring and the musical conglomeration cannot be said to be either rhythmic or tight.
The band tend to find themselves stuck in the middle of the road and the problem with being there is that you don't really have any direction to head in, do you? A natural corollary of this is that the second track tends to drag like a seals arse across the ice. However, there is enough on the first track for you to keep a tentative eye on the progress of this Yorkshire outfit.
