Fragile, powerful songs of longing are the almost unrelieved fare; The Autumns aim for the heart, and act like theirs is broken beyond repair. "Hush, Plain Girls" "Slumberdoll" and "The End" are so brittle, you start praying that some hope is going to be offered, or at least some relief. These are tiny, sad songs that ask to be sat next to. And believed. "The Moon Softly Weeps a Lullaby" is probably going to be the most beautiful song you hear this year. Don't be misled by the titles into thinking that this is fey preciousness; this is a band who knows how to milk the pathos, but in a way that is completely honest and ballsy. They know.
