Shadow takes a look at the current industrial and dark electronica music world. Although big beat and techno as well as trance seems to be getting all the spotlight in the electronica world there is a completely underground sound in the industrial sector. Bands such as Download have only helped to nurture the ever growing hard driving and futuristic sound that are coming from industrial music. This is a highlight of five artists; Dietrich Schoenemann, Magnetic, Droid, Hanna, and Illform; two tracks from each artist. They are all new to me but this taste of them leaves me wanting more. The compilation keeps a dark overtone throughout, as much of industrial manages to elude to, but underneath it all it is a great example of tribal techno and breakbeats. Some tracks prove their worth with hard driving drum and bass but stay true to the dark side. Bored with the mainstream? Try this on for size and find yourself in a completely different world.
