Six Degrees is a world music/electronica fusion label that got it’s start a few years back. It is going strong putting out high-quality music that is very different than most music out there. What Six Degrees tries to do on Recline: A Six Degrees Collection of Chilled Grooves is collect some of their highlights in the past year and get some high-profile producers and remixers to do their thing with them. It turns into a choice downtempo mix that will appeal to many. There isn’t that much world music included here. In fact the only tracks that sound international are the Bebel Gilberto track and the Zuco 103 track. The latter’s vocals are put so far down in the mix that you hardly even notice them. This is the sort of music to put on when you are feeling a bit lazy and just want to sit around doing nothing. It would also fit nice in a cocktail lounge. Find out why Six Degrees music has made such an impact on electronica music these past few years. Recline contains some very well done chilled grooves.
