I honestly don't think I have been bored as much as with the latest album from Athlete. Seriously guys, what makes you think people would want to listen to this crap. Athlete showed so much promise on their debut album, to disappoint like this is the definitive sophomore slump. They show signs of some good songs on Tourist but they honestly have failed on every possible tenet. The album opens up with the stupidly grand "Chances", a song that doesn't deserve a string section at all. "Half Light" starts out sounding like they might be onto something but ultimately comes off half-baked. If the label actually wanted a single from Athlete, that would be it. On album closer, "I Love", Joel Pott states that they "Love Everybody Here". If that was the case they would have saved us from this complete waste of time. It's really sad because I will never get those 46 minutes back that I spent listening to Tourist.
